 Let Me Show You A [T r i c k]

The Australian Shepherd trotted into the mansion, pink tongue flopping as he panted. If a two-legger were to look at the dog right now, he'd probabley sware that he was smiling, but would probabley disregard it as a silly coincidence... But Houdini was actually -or slightly- happy at the moment, for he was in high hopes of joining the pack. He had defended, found food and water, and anything else that helped him live for atleast 7 months after his foster parents (his two-leggers) dumped him out on the street. But, of course, he had to join a pack sometime or he'd die younger than he would with that extra help - the pack leaders.

Tri-colored fur shook as he walked by the crumbled stairs. His two deep brown opticals searched the premisis for the leader. Lifting up his head slowly, he let out a small bark for them, hoping that they would show up soon. Testing the air with dream-box still held up, he scented no other except for one... female? He wasn't quite expecting that, but hey, who really cared. That pretty much left the Alpha Male position open, unless she had met someone already.... Houdini looked down to his paws, and lifting one up and curving it so he could see the pad, he noticed they were slightly pink and a little bruised. They hurt terribly, and looked in terrible condition as well. He shook his head in dissaproval, but put his paw down and kept standing there on his aching feet. He wished that little fae would hurry up already...

Taking the time to think, his memories came rushing back to him. No worries, they were pretty much happy ones.
One, two, three, four... Wait, a fifth one! A deep voice of a man called to a panting dog. The female was giving birth to a fifth pup, Houdini. With one more push, the Aussie Shepherd was out and taking his first breaths, tiny ribcage pushing up and down. The rest of the pups pushed for the teets of the bytch, (yes, female dog. hehe) but Houdini was curled up on the opposite side of his mother. The man's large hands picked him up gently, and placed him near one of the teets, and eventually, the tri-colored pup drank to his content. Finally, worn out, the five pups slept in a pile, all against the soft fur of their mother.

About a year later...

No mom! We're taking them with us! A little boy cried to his parents, looking with a quivering lip to the seven dogs, who were standing there, looking at them as if they knew everything wouldn't be okay. I'm... I'm sorry, but we just can't bring them all along when we move, sweety. A soft, gentle, motherly voice came also, a single tear coming to her eye, just hating seeing her son cry like that. But, the moving truck came, the dogs were put outside without collars or leashes, and they watched their owners pull away on a dusty road, moving truck following behind them.... The dogs were on their own now, but didn't quite know what to do yet. The two older dogs left first, leaving the five 1 year olds by themselves. Exchanging glances, the pups went their seperate ways, through tear-filled eyes. Houdini never saw the rest of them again, and often wonders if they are still alive and well....

Multi-colored paws hit the concrete in silence, raw pads gliding across the floor where the carpet had holes worn through- darkness looming in the mansion. Though daylight lifted the darkness from the outside- there were no windows letting the light in where the female roamed.
Just darkness, and the concrete floor.

Towers flicked as limbs froze in place, nostrils flaring gently as the scent of another canid grazed their membranes. The scent had male written all over it, with the vocals of he echoing back into the hall of which she was descending. By guess and hearing she'd say he was probably standing in the main hall way, where the hole in the wall made a perfect entrance and exit for a canine.
She used it all the time.

Perhaps he'd come just because she was alone. Hoping for a shot at alpha? Of course she wasnt going to let some sudden mutt take the place. But it'd be so wrong of her to assume. So she'd attempt to take the thought off of her mind, and think of the other things. The better things. The thoughts that this was the beginning of the Aramis Pack. It wasn't she who made the pack, it was it's members. She could only push it to be stronger. Salmon tongue lolled between parted jaws, optics locked upon the similarily australian bred canine, before gracelessly padding out from where she had hidden herself. Alphas didnt hide.
She'd almost forgotten that.

She nodded, almost to herself, as she looked him over, thoughts racing in her mind so fast she'd forgotten to speak. She was sorting him, placing him, already before even knowing the brute's name. Big mistake, but it was something she couldnt really help. He looked well to be a messenger, or perhaps a spy. She huffed gently to herself, whilst finally making eye contact with the shepherd.

Finally, the fae arrived. She seemed dominant, so probabley Alpha female. He bowed his head slightly to the fem, showing his respects to her position. Lo. I am Houdini, and wish to join your pack. His sincerest lyrics were spoken, and a smile proceeded to crease his kissers. Perhaps she would allow him to, and then again, maybe not. He hoped for the best, though. His tail lowered a bit once he noticed that it was raised high, for he wasn't going to show dominance until he was actually in a high position, of course. His multi-colored fur was shaken as he waited for her to reply.

Thinking back to his old home and pack, a very, very large smile creased his kissers. He wanted so badly to see his mate once again, but it would not happen. She was gone now... Far gone, to a place he couldn't reach. Oh well, it was a new beginning for him, and he needed to make it the best as possible. Shaking his head very slightly, he snapped out of his thoughts to look around the mansion. Perhaps things would be better once he found a place to stay? If she replied.. He hoped that the fae wouldn't just kick him out and tell him to get away... He'd already been through that and really didn't want to go through it again. You have a lovely home, miss. He added after a while of silence, and looked the fem in the eyes, awaiting his reply.

A soft sigh released the breath that had been stretching her chest cavity, merle hued coat ruffling as a gust ripped through the darkness of the mansion. Houdini. Brown optics blinked in silence, kissers parted- panting heavily, gaze failing to part from the male. Towers flicked, the right twitching back for a moment as Houdini's tail picked up from his hindquarters. Flues drew back slightly, enamels peeking from behind pale lips... but as his tail fell, so did her kissers in silence.

"'ello Houdini. My name is Liia, and here- is the Aramis Pack."

Carefully studying him for a moment, her limbs naturally squared themselves beneath her bodice before she padded a quarter of a circle around the strange dog. Not necessarily so strange any longer, considering she still knew his name, but perhaps it was the scent that she found so abnormal. Her expression softened, flues pulling back into a smile as the female's salmon tongue lolled against parted jaws, her breath drifting upward in the darkness.
In the cold.

Indeed, the winter froze the mansion inside and out... the concrete becoming a brutal thing to sleep on in the depths of winter. It often became so cold that it actually made her ache inside, which made her love the bits of carpet that weren't worn off in the hallway. Ah, back to the dog. Nostrils flared out once more, fiddling back and forth as she inhaled sharply, the sudden rush of air causing a very unpleasant burning sensation in her lungs and nasal cavity.

"Mmm... Join the pack you say? Well then, Houdini, what are your intentions here?"

Towers flickered as another gust of wind blew up in the cavity of the mansion, causing flakes of crumbling stair case to fall to the floor, cackling and grumbling along their way.

[ooc; haha, it's alright, mine's not amazing either xD]
